18" Carved Top

This is a big guitar with a big neck
and a big sound. 12 frets to the neck
joint to put the bridge right in the
sweet spot. I'm thinking a transparent
black lacquer finish.

Big Jumbo w/carved back
Gretsch, Epiphone & Guild all had big Flat Tops with arched backs. Spruce top, 2 pc. maple neck w/center strip, bound
rosewood fingerboard & bridge w/vintage Kluson tailpiece & Grover Imperials. Inlaid MOP logo on ebony headstock and bound tortoise scratchplate finish it off. Big bass notes seem to jump out of the oval soundhole. Going to sunburst neck, back & sides, natural top. Lower bout: 45cm or just shy of 18". Scale length is 66cm or 26".

Here's a shot of the carved back. A little hard to see in the
light. This is hand carved rock maple and represents quite a few man hours of labor.
