Leo & Lester inspired Red Special

Like most of the guitars on this page, this is a semi hollow body with bent sides and a solid tone block like a 335. It's sort of a Tele/LP Special hybrid, with a bound 25.5" mahogany neck on a red mahogany body. All American hardware. Joe Barden pickups make for a juicy P-90 tone. Sperzel tuners and Kluson tailpiece & bridge.
Swirled tortoise pickguard. Gold speed knobs. Flawless
red catalyzed urethane finish.

"The Redneck"

This is a modified Tele style, slightly
smaller and a little more curvy. All the
wood used for this guitar has been re-
purposed so besides being black & red
it's also green. The body is chambered
ash and the top is spruce from an old
piano soundboard. The neck is a piece
of red birch that was cut for flooring,
and has been stained red. P-90's and
hollow body for an open airy and loud
sound. In house hand rubbed black &
red nitro.

Tel/6120 Hybrid

Modified Tele style, actually a small acoustic with bent sides,
all maple body, three piece neck with angled headstock. Zero
nut, half moon inlays on rosewood f'board, ebony headstock overlay with MOP logo. Body, f'board and h'stock bound in cream binding. Hipshot tuners, American Bigsby, AMS roller bridge and GFS Dynasonic pickups. Finished in Bright Orange nitro by Lay's. This is one pretty guitar if I do say so myself.
Plays great and sounds great!

A pair of Tele/6120 Hybrids. The guitar on the left has been on the website, now w/added pickguard. On the right is a new guitar made to order and sold to Rob Abate, a fine Jazz & Blues player and guitar teacher here in Traverse City. He had specific requests with regard to neck size and shape and got a guitar made of stripey tiger maple in the bargain.
New Thin Twin

This guitar was on the construction page for a while, but I strung it up today and am diggin' it. I built this guitar years ago. The neck has a great feel (1.75" wide), but I was never happy with the way the body turned out, so early this year I band sawed the neck off and built a new body. Construction is similar to a Kay Thin Twin with a little Harmony Stratatone thrown in. Tele style p.u. on the neck and lipstick on the bridge, hollow body for a big resonant sound. Sounds kind of like a Gretsch to me. Natural curly maple top & back, neck & sides stained bright red. Long (25.875") ebony f'board. Hand rubbed oil finish.
